The Waffle House at 5421 Village Market, off State Road 54 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, is closed for a full remodel. The Wesley Chapel Loop reported on Oct. 15 that the restaurant shut down in late September and that the work is expected to take two or three months.

Waffle House's own page for the restaurant, listed as location #650, currently shows it as temporarily closed. For a spot the Loop describes as known for its around-the-clock hours, that means no overnight or early-morning meals at this address for now.

What is changing

According to the Loop, the remodel includes new flooring, updated ceiling tiles and lighting, reupholstered booths, and fresh paint inside and outside. The publication describes the goal as a cleaner, brighter version of the same restaurant.

The menu and the classic counter-and-booth layout are expected to stay the same, the Loop reported, and the yellow-and-red color scheme is expected to return with a refreshed look.

Before you go

Before heading over, check the restaurant's status on the Waffle House location page or call the listed number, 813-973-2801. The same page lists other nearby restaurants, including Waffle House #96 at 922 E. Fowler Ave. in Tampa.
