Triathlon to Bring Road Closures and Crowds to Mirada Area Tomorrow Morning

·2 min read·891

SAN ANTONIO, FL - Residents across Dade City, San Antonio, and northern Wesley Chapel, particularly those around the Mirada community should plan for some early-morning detours tomorrow Sunday, November 16, as a major triathlon moves through local roads. Intermittent closures are expected from 7 a.m. to noon while athletes compete around the Mirada Lagoon area.

The Game On Florida Lagoon Triathlon is set to bring a large turnout, with racers expected from across the region. The event features several race formats, including sprint and international-distance triathlons, along with duathlon and aquabike options. Portions of the bike and run courses will extend onto nearby roads, prompting temporary traffic shifts throughout the morning.

Mirada’s landmark man-made lagoon will serve as the centerpiece of race day. Participants will start their morning in the water before moving to a network of surrounding streets for the cycling and running segments. Spectators are welcome, and residents should expect an uptick in foot traffic, parked cars, and activity throughout the community.

Anyone traveling through the area on Sunday morning may want to leave a few minutes early, especially near the main entrance to Mirada and the surrounding corridors used for the bike route. Law enforcement and event crews will be on scene to guide drivers.

Events like this have become a growing draw for Pasco County, and many residents enjoy watching the competition unfold right in their neighborhood. For those living nearby, you may catch athletes racing past your street.
