State Road 54 Closed at US 41 Railroad Tracks 7/23 – 7/25

Beginning 8:00 pm July 23rd, the Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor D.A.B. Constructors, will begin closing lanes on SR 54 at US 41 in preparation for a full road closure of SR 54 for railroad crossing replacement work.

SR 54 will be closed at the railroad tracks at 10:00 pm, weather permitting. The closure is necessary so CSX can replace the railroad crossing and tracks. SR 54 is expected to reopen by 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 25th.

During the closure, access to local businesses will be maintained, however motorists will not be able to cross the tracks. US 41 will remain open during this work.

Vehicles will be detoured around the work zone using US 41, Dale Mabry Highway, Lutz Lake Fern Road, Gunn Highway and SR 54.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour. Motorists should anticipate heavier than normal volumes of traffic on all of these roads during this closure.
