A family-run Puerto Rican restaurant on Wesley Chapel Boulevard traces its menu to handed-down recipes and a food truck that started it all.
Rice n Beans PR serves Puerto Rican cooking on Wesley Chapel Boulevard in Wesley Chapel. The owner says the concept began with a food truck, La guaguita, before a first Florida restaurant opened in a small Lutz location in 2016.
The family traces the menu to recipes handed down by a grandmother they call Viejita Bella, recalling childhood hours spent cooking in her kitchen. Continuing to prepare those recipes, they say, is their way of keeping her legacy alive.
According to the restaurant, its mission is to offer dishes in a familiar, cultural setting where guests can experience the traditions of Puerto Rico, with an emphasis on quality and humble, professional service.
Beyond dining, the restaurant takes online reservations and orders, hosts gatherings such as birthdays, rehearsal dinners and corporate events, and offers catering packages. It also lists job openings and posts upcoming events, including a Halloween costume night and a ticketed New Year's Eve celebration.
