SAN ANTONIO, FL - Development continues along the busy State Road 52 corridor east of I-75 just north of Wesley Chapel, as site plans were submitted to Pasco County this week for a new Wawa gas station and convenience store.

According to county records, the proposed site is located on the south side of SR 52, just east of the Double Branch development. The project marks another addition to the growing commercial landscape in this section of Wesley Chapel, which has seen rapid growth tied to new housing communities and roadway expansions.

The plans, which were filed for county review, call for a modern Wawa store with multiple fueling stations, ample parking, and a convenience market typical of the chain’s popular Florida locations. The submission is the first formal step in the approval process, which will include permitting, utility coordination, and traffic impact analysis before construction can begin.

This new Wawa would serve as a convenient stop for residents of nearby neighborhoods, including Double Branch, Epperson, and Mirada, as well as travelers using I-75 and SR 52. The area has become one of the county’s fastest-growing transportation corridors, with ongoing infrastructure projects and new commercial developments following the population boom across northeast Pasco.

If approved, the station will join several other Wawa locations already operating throughout Wesley Chapel and central Pasco County. No construction timeline has been announced yet.
