New Pasco School Safety Guards Graduate

·1 min read·6

In response to a new Florida Law created after a series of school shootings, Pasco County School Safety guards began training on June 4, with classroom lessons on safety procedures, deadly force, first aid, diversity, and defensive tactics put on by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. That was followed by two weeks of shooting range instruction and aggressive response to an active threat. Guards also completed psychological, physical, and drug testing. School safety guards are assigned to Pasco elementary schools while Pasco Sheriff’s Office school resource officers will continue to staff secondary schools such as middle schools and high schools.

As seen in the photo above, the group of new School Safety Gaurds graduated on Monday July 30th at 3:30 PM.
