Former Wesley Chapel area Teacher Arrested for Child Pornography

School Science Teacher, “Mr. Crawford”, as he was known to students took a computer to a Best Buy for service and ended up being arrested months later. The worker at Best Buy Geek Squad allegedly found child pornography images on his computer during service, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

According to records, William Crawford, a 69 year old science teacher at John Long Middle School has also taught at Wesley Chapel High School.

Deputies say the discovery of child porn was reported by a Best Buy Geek Squad employee. The employee told deputies he observed pornographic images of a child while trying to fix Crawford’s laptop. Pasco Sheriff Deputies seized the computer after getting a search warrant and reportedly found numerous images on the device.

Crawford admitted to having the images on his computer and resigned from his position as a teacher at John Long Middle School on Tuesday.

Crawford was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography
