Burglars targeting communities all over Wesley Chapel during COVID-19 Crisis

WESLEY CHAPEL – According to local social media groups and posts, neighborhoods all over Wesley Chapel have seen a huge spike in burglaries over the last few days. Residents are reporting that burglars have been targeting unlocked cars in Wesley Chapel overnight at the tune of 20 or more cars per neighborhood per night according to last night’s activity reported on the Wesley Chapel Facebook Group.

We were able to confirm these social media reports by speaking with Law Enforcement on scene of one of the communities hit hard over the week.

Residents have reported all types of stolen property from money to firearms that were left in their vehicles.

Authorities request that you report suspicious activity and lock your doors as most of these crimes are easily preventable.
