TBO.COM — Construction crews are working around the clock on the finishing details before Wednesday’s opening of AutoNation’s new $17 million Mercedes-Benz of Wesley Chapel.
Executives for the country’s largest automotive retailer gave the Tribune a sneak peek at the new the 47,071-square-foot dealership on State Road 56 at Interstate 75.
“We’re very proud of the facility — it’s exceeding all of our expectations,” said David Koehler, market president – Tampa Bay for AutoNation’s Eastern Region. “The goal is to take care of our customers in a very grand way. It’s amazing how it all comes together.”
AutoNation sells one out of every 10 new Mercedes in the United States. The Wesley Chapel store is the company’s 20th Mercedes dealership and its 10th in Florida; it features a 21,000-square-foot showroom and 27-bay service department. It will have capacity for 250 new and certified used vehicles on site. The company purchased a second lot in Cypress Creek where it can store an additional 125 vehicles.
An official grand opening ceremony is slated for October, but the company will be open for business at 7 a.m. Wednesday. A mix of about 100 new and used vehicles will arrive on the lot beginning Monday…
