WESLEY CHAPEL – According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, K9 Corporal Tellier was driving on State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel near Saddlebrook when he noticed a stolen car driving eastbound without its lights on. He attempted to pull over the vehicle but it did not stop and fled onto Smith Road near the entrance to Ashley Pines community of Wesley Chapel. According to the Sheriff’s Office, immediately after turning, the vehicle went off the road and into a marshy area and crashed.
A video of the chase is below. In the video you can see Sheriff’s Office K9 tracking the two suspects who turned out to be local teens from Palm Cove according to local facebook groups. Police were on scene in the community the next day collecting video of the teens burglarizing vehicles in the community overnight.
“It is critical to note that in the stolen vehicle featured in this video, two stolen firearms were also found,” the sheriff’s office said.
The 16-year-old driver was arrested for vehicle theft, fleeing to elude, resisting without violence and carrying a concealed firearm.
The 15-year-old passenger was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, armed auto burglary and resisting arrest without violence.
This officer and his body cam video clearly shows the dangerous and risky career police officers have chosen. They should be commended for risking their lives on a daily basis to protect us from juvenile delinquents and career criminals.
Blue lives matter! Keep up the great work!
DITTO!!!
Alway Back the Blue. They put their lives in danger each time they walk out their front door. God bless our men and woman in blue and keep them safe..
AGREED! THANK YOU OFFICERS FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
Definitely, Blue lives protect and improve ours!
Agreed, absolutely!!
Amen to that ! Blue lives matter!!!
Well said. Law and Order is a biblical mandate.
How many people would have actually gone into that marshy area to look for them? Only our deputies and first responders will do these tough jobs. Thank you Pasco Sheriff Dept. for the job you do every day. May God watch over you and keep you all safe.
Respect and gratitude to the officers.. We are safe because of you officers. May God bless you all and keep you safe.
Great job! This was a serious crime and I hope these teens face serious time!
Somewhere in Pasco County there’s an ass clown or two that will say our officers used profane language and were too aggressive for just two teenagers having fun joyriding in stolen car and breaking into a few cars along the way…and they weren’t every going to use those weapons.
Sadly, about 1 out of 10 Americans will think this way. That’s why we need to support our police officers as well as our firefighters and first responders which include our nurses. And of course our soldiers too.
Remember BLM stands for BLUE LIVES MATTER.
Don’t be a CHUMP, vote for TRUMP.
I agree that blue lives matter but I need the blue to remember that black lives matter as well. I just want everyone to be treated equally.
