Arrival and Dismissal

General Information

Arrival – Students will be dropped off along the car rider line no earlier than 9:20 AM. Please do not drop off students until Veterans Elementary duty personnel are present. When the gates are open students will need to report to their class or breakfast. Parents may walk their children to the entrance of the pod on the first day of school. After the first day of school, each student will need to be dropped off at 9:20 AM and proceed to their pod or lunchroom for breakfast. Note: Breakfast is from 9:20 AM to 9:35 AM. Veterans Elementary School personnel will be available to direct them to their pods or to the lunchroom for breakfast.

Dismissal – Students will be picked up at the car rider line outside of the front office. All parents picking up will need to stay in the car line, showing their carpool tag(s) with the child’s name, and wait for a number that will be given to them by school personnel. Once that number has been given, parents picking up the student will go to the designated numbered pole where the student will be waiting. Please do not leave your car to get your child. The student will be assisted in the car by Veterans Elementary duty personnel and/or safety patrols. Once all children in car rider numbered signs 1-10 are safely in their car, the Veterans Elementary duty personnel will release the line and the next 10 cars will go to their designated numbers to pick up their child. To avoid any accidents, please DO NOT go around other cars to exit. Please wait until the car in front of you moves forward.

Rainy Day Dismissal – In the event there are thunderstorms, lightning and/or heavy rains, all walkers/bikers will be taken to the car loop for dismissal. Parents that do not want their child to walk home should come through the car loop with their carpool sign. Students not picked up by 4:00 PM will be taken to the office to call home.
