Three dead in Watergrass Subdivision of Wesley Chapel Community
WESLEY CHAPEL FL - In a deeply saddening event in the Watergrass subdivision, a well-regarded neighborhood within the Wesley Chapel Community, three individuals were discovered deceased in their residence. This incident, which took place Monday evening, has been linked to domestic violence, as per the statement from Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.
Responding to a call around 6:15 p.m., after Watergrass residents observed water seeping from a local home on Azalea Ridge Drive, deputies made their way inside the property. Tragically, they found a 70-year-old male and a 63-year-old female, both apparently suffering from fatal stab wounds, in the living area. Moreover, a 32-year-old male, believed to be the couple’s son, was discovered in a locked bathroom with the bathtub still running. Preliminary indications suggest the individuals had passed away a few days prior.
Sheriff Nocco expressed profound sorrow over the event, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and addressing domestic violence. The motive remains unclear, but it is suspected that the younger male, who may have been grappling with mental health and substance abuse problems, took the life of his parents before his own.
Nocco strongly encourages those experiencing challenges with substance abuse, mental health, or domestic violence to seek assistance. The incident is still under active investigation as numerous law-enforcement officers remain on scene as of 10 PM.
