New Library Under Construction in Wesley Chapel
Pasco County is excited to announce the construction of a new library in Wesley Chapel, designed to serve the rapidly growing community. Construction is well underway, with the foundation completed and walls rising, marking significant progress in this highly anticipated project.
Location and Timeline The new Wesley Chapel Library is being built next to Seven Oaks Elementary School on Mystic Oak Blvd. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 12, 2024, and the library is expected to be completed by the second half of 2025. After construction, the library will be equipped with a collection of materials, programming supplies, and advanced technologies, aiming to open its doors to the public by Fall 2025.
Library Features and Facilities The library will span approximately 13,000 square feet and has a budget of $11 million, covering design, construction, furnishings, equipment, and collection materials. It will offer a variety of features to cater to the community's needs, including:
A vast collection of books, audiobooks, and DVDs
Public computers and printers
A dedicated children’s area
Collaborative spaces and study rooms
A gallery wall in the lobby
An outdoor reading porch
A multi-purpose room for makerspace and other activities
A meeting room
Drive-up services for added convenience
Operating Hours The specific operating hours are still being determined, but the schedule will likely include at least two evening days per week to accommodate the community's diverse needs.
