House fire in Wesley Chapel claims a woman and her pet

MAR 4 2019 – A mobile home fire killed a woman and her dog on Monday morning, according to Pasco Fire Rescue. A man was able to escape the flames but suffered severed burns. His status is unknown.

Neighbors tried to put out the fire to no avail.

Neighbors on Penny Royal Road in Wesley Chapel (near SR54 and Boyette) tried to save the victims but said the fire was too severe, firefighters said.

The incident started at about 10:30 a.m. when neighbors called 911 reporting “several explosions” at the home. By the time firefighters arrived, it wasn’t safe to enter the home, said Pasco Fire Rescue.

Pasco Fire Rescue is being assisted in the investigation by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the state Fire Marshal’s Office.

“There was fire coming out of all four sides of this house — every window, every door, every orifice that was open, there was flames blowing out of it” Pasco Fire Rescue
