The victim in this case sat his iPad Mini on the counter in the electronics department of Target Superstore located at 1201 Bruce B Downs, Wesley Chapel, FL. The suspect (pictured above) appeared to be shopping for a video game with his young son.
After checking out, he took the victim’s iPad from the counter and carried it out of the store underneath his legitimate purchase. The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, 35-45 years old, Medium Build, 5’10” – 6’00” tall, with balding short dark hair, and thick facial hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt and white plaid shorts.
The child with him appeared to be 10-14 years old, slender, 5’07” – 5’09” tall, with short dark hair, glasses, and wearing a gray/white horizontal stripped T-shirt, black shorts, and sandals.

According to records on file with Pasco County, those who use Northwood Palms Blvd or County Line Road will soon have a new traffic light at that intersection. A study was conducted and found that during peak times over 1,200 cars per hour were passing thru by which exceeds the threshold for stoplight placement. A temporarily stoplight will be put in place for the next few years until eventual roadway upgrades are complete, at which time a permanent stoplight will be put up along the new road.
According to documents on file with Pasco County, Chick-fil-A will soon meet with Pasco County officials about plans to build a 4,586-square-foot restaurant with 96 seats inside and 32 seats outside. The Chick-fil-A will be located at the entrance to the Cypress Creek Town Center outlet mall on the south side of State Road 56 near I75 in Weley Chapel. A view of the plans proposed show the restaurant will have two driveway lanes and indoor playground.
According to WFLA, there has been a breach of customer card data involving the Beef O Brady’s card processing network. The exact locations or number of persons affected is unknown. Details will be posted here as available.
A fatality has been reported on Bruce B Downs near the entrance to the Seven Oaks community in Wesley Chapel at Mystic Oak Blvd according to the Florida Highway Patrol. As of 12:05 am on Tuesday morning, Bruce B Downs is closed for investigation. Further details will be posted when available.
Tuesday 11:30 AM: Pasco County Sheriff’s Office officials said Tuesday morning they believe an escaped inmate is no longer in the county.
Tuesday 4:00 AM: According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, Adams has still not been caught. Adams has relatives in Titusville, and deputies are expanding the search area, Nocco said. Deputies will search throughout the night and morning, Nocco said. He said a deputy will be stationed at all local elementary schools.“We are hunting him,” Nocco said. “Everything is on the table right now. We are going to be absolutely aggressive. We’re going to bring the heat. It’s pretty intense right now.”He said it’s surprising “someone with just six years (would) run. There must have been some reason for it, but I can tell you right now we are hunting him down. This is an active manhunt.” The sheriff’s office suspects Adams got into a car, though he could still be on foot. “If you help him,” Nocco said, “If you drive him somewhere, we will arrest you, too.”
Monday 9:15 PM: Escapee location still unknown. Believed to still be in the area of Lutz/Land O Lakes/Wesley Chapel. Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco says Adams is considered dangerous, so it’s important for all citizens to keep their doors and windows locked tonight.
Monday 8:40 PM: Adams is 5’10” tall, he weighs 164 lbs and has brown eyes and blonde or strawberry blonde hair. Adams has tattoos on his arms, legs, chest, stomach and back. Deputies believe Adams may have had help escaping and make it clear that anyone who is helping him will be arrested.
Monday 8:30 PM: Sheriff Chris Nocco gives a live update on scene. Escapee is still on the loose. Residents are encouraged to be on the lookout and call 911 if you see anyone matching this description. Adams was doing work as part of a DOC work camp when he escaped around 4:15 p.m. He is not under the supervision of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office but instead the State Prison System. There was a 20-40 minute delay before state DOC officials notified the Sheriff of the inmates escape.
He was serving time for grand theft and burglary for crimes committed in Brevard County.
Monday 7:40 PM: Escapee has still not been found. Helicopters searching the area as well as police on ATV’s according to residents in the area.
Monday 7:29 PM: Deputies and DOC Officer’s have numerous assets on scene, however according to Pasco County Emergency Communications the escaped prisoner is still on the loose. Residents in the area are advised to keep doors locked, and be on the lookout.
Monday 6:28 PM: According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, there has been a prisoner escape on State Road 54 and Oak Grove Blvd, just west of I75.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for a prisoner who escaped a State Prison work detail in the area of State Road 54 and Oak Grove Boulevard in Lutz. The inmate is currently sentenced to several years in prison for burglary, and theft. According to the Sheriff’s Office, “Inmate may have a lengthy head start as we were not notified immediately after his escape so all Pasco residents in the area should be on the lookout for him.”
The suspect escaped from Florida Department of Corrections Officers who were supervising him.
The suspect, Jason Adams, a white male wearing a blue prison uniform with white stripes, is part of a Sumter County work camp. If anyone locates this person, please call 911.

According to documents filed with the Pasco County Development Review Committee, a new Chili’s restaurant is coming soon at 28444 State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel, which is just in front of the new Walmart in Wesley Chapel. Approval is expected at the September 11th DRC meeting in Dade City.
Chili’s hopes to bring more than thirty new jobs to the area with its 6,090-square-foot location which will open in just a few months time. The location will include access from SR54 and from Walmart’s parking lot.
Construction has started on the long awaited Cypress Creek Town Center in Wesley Chapel. Crews have began clearing and building up the land north of State Road 56 between Wesley Chapel Blvd and I75. When the entire project is completed, the area is expected to house over 100 retail locations, several restaurants, as well as hotels alongside I75, and several anchor stores in the outlet mall section.

New Dynamic Message Board Display Signs have been installed above State Road 56 and State Road 54 to assist Wesley Chapel commuters with planning their travels to and from work, and about the Wesley Chapel area. The signs are expected to become active soon.
Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) are electronic signs that can change the message they display. DMS are an important part in traveler information and event notofication. Posting messages that provide motorists with critical information can help reduce congestion that improves the mobility and safety of the surface transportation systems. Informing motorists about real-time incidents and confirmed lane-blockage events, such as crashes, disabled vehicles, roadwork, car fires, and hazardous material (HAZMAT) spills empowers them to make informed decisions about their routes of travel. DMS boards are also used to post Amber Alerts, Silver Alerts and Leo Alerts.
