Overnight Burglaries Plague Wesley Chapel Area

WESLEY CHAPEL – It is a story becoming all too familiar for residents of Wesley Chapel Communities like Meadow Pointe, Seven Oaks, Live Oak, Hunters Green, Northwood, Estancia, Cross Creek, The Lakes, Palm Cove, Epperson, Avalon Park West, Stagecoach, New River, Bridgewater, and more.

Nearly every night over the last two weeks social media and community websites have been riddled with posts of neighbor’s cars being burglarized. Residents of Wesley Chapel area communities have reported stolen computer, money, guns, and more.

The suspects are described as younger black males, 16-24 years old, skinny builds, dressed in dark colors. They can be seen in the videos time after time going up and down streets preying on unlocked cars and stealing valuables left inside.

Most of the cars are unlocked according to the Wesley Chapel Community Facebook group.

  1. Neighbors, maybe take turns and sit on your roof during the night. They need to be caught and punished…however the court system is too easy on them with a slap on the wrist…wait, oh no, that would be consider an assault.

        1. They weren’t only targeting locked cars. At my house, they tried getting anything they could- my cars were locked, so they attempted to take my hose, but they were too stupid to figure out how to detach it. Got them on my cameras, not even trying my door handles- they were determined to get anything possible. Stole a bunch from my neighbors. As of last night, 2 of them have been caught, though.

      1. Yes, like always the victim is being blamed! I should be able to leave my car in MY driveway UNLOCKED and should NEVER have to worry about criminals. This is a CRIMINAL problem and NOT the problem of the vehicle owner. Stop giving criminals an out!

  2. These burglaries could all be avoided if people would only remember to lock their cars. The Pasco Sheriff’s Dept. has said over and over again, “lock your cars and doors”. This is not the 1960’s where you could feel comfortable never locking your cars or house. These are crimes of opportunity. Don’t give them the opportunity!! Lock your car!!!

  3. Think of it this way . Go outside and walk up to these guys and give them $50 or $100. That’s what you are doing if you leave your car unlocked with laptops, phones or anything you care about inside. Would you leave your laptop on the front lawn. Though it might be safer than your car. Think smart.

  4. I say shoot the bastards, save the courts time and money, and send a message to their parents that they shouldn’t have kids if they can’t take the time to raise them properly.

  5. Scary how more people post blaming the victims.Than they do blaming the animals scurrying through your streets at night.
