TAMPABAY.COM — A 56-year-old man and two passengers were seriously injured Thursday afternoon when he turned into the path of a Pasco school bus, troopers say.
The man, whose name has not been released, and his two passengers were headed east on S.R. 56 in a Mazda around 2:30 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The bus, driven by Arthur Thompson, 61, of Land O’Lakes, was going west on S.R. 56.
The Mazda turned left onto the north-bound on-ramp to I-75 putting the passenger side in front of the bus. The impact sent the car spinning to the north side of the intersection.
The three people in the car were seriously injured and taken to Tampa General Hospital. Four Wiregrass Ranch students, ages 16 to 19, on the bus were treated for minor injuries and released to their parents at the scene.
